What kind of grooming brush is best for a wire haired dachshund?

I mean this question just to be for normal everyday people like me.

I'm not a professional groomer.

So what is the best type of brush to use on a wire haired dachshund?

Maybe a pro groomer or a very experienced person with wire haired dachshunds would be best to answer this. What kind of grooming brush is best for a wire haired dachshund?
I would just go to the local pet store and get a basic hair brush. They usually have an oval head with metal points evenly spaced. They are best for dogs with coarse, or long coats. What kind of grooming brush is best for a wire haired dachshund?
Get a slicker brush, It pulls out the dead hairs, dirt and stimulated the natural oils so the dog will have a nice shinny coat. At Dollerama here in our area they have the best brushes. We started using them at the salon and gave them a way to customers. They lasted us a long time and only cost one dollar.
The best brush is a slicker brush. Go to wal-mart. They are the brushes with lots of thin wire bristles that are angled. This is a great brush that works best on breeds with wire or longer coats. It gets all the way down to the skin, and prevents mats and tangles.
NONE!!!!

The breed is supposed to be HAND-STRIPPED!!!!!!

There won't BE any coat to brush.....a comb will be plenty.

AFTER it's stripped.

LOL...great 'help'; from the nitwits above,eh?
Never heard of a wire haired but I LOVE Dachshunds anyway so maybe a soft one?

I was not so sure so if that's not right then sorry! :(
wat is that animal Ive never heard of it

Is there a good brush for cleaning custom wheels?

I have custom aluminum spoke wheels and it's tough to get the brake dust and dirt off the backside and between the spokes. Does anyone know of a good brush that would work?Is there a good brush for cleaning custom wheels?
You're in luck! This just came out! I've used it and it rocks!

BUST THE BRAKE DUST – NOT YOUR KNUCKLES

The revolutionary new Custom Wheel Detailing Wand, the only product of its kind, makes cleaning wheels safe and effortless…no more cut fingers, hand injuries or scratched wheels. Specially designed twisted microfiber “elbow” head makes it simple to clean hard to reach areas. Also available with a 100-percent sheepskin component for cleaning spoke or blade style wheels. Is there a good brush for cleaning custom wheels?
I've never used a brush to clean my rims. There's a chance of them scratching them. I'd use something like Meguiars Wheel Brightener (http://www.meguiars.com/?detailer-wheel-… and use a soft rag to clean them. It might take longer than a brush, but won't scratch up your rims.
NO SUCH THING. IT IS UP TO THE CHEMICAL TO CLEAN IT. OTHERWISE, YOU HAVE TO BUY NEW WHEEL. ONCE THE BRAKE DUST COOKED ON TO THE RIM, IT STAY THERE FOREVER LIKE RUST ON STEEL.
not really just use a towel or wash them

How to use round brush without coordination?

What is a good brush to use on a shedding pom puppy?

She is 4 months old and starting her uglies stage. She's okay with being brushed, but now she's starting to lose her undercoat. Any suggestions on a good quality brush or rake or something that'll work well? What is a good brush to use on a shedding pom puppy?
I love the furminator products. They make a shampoo, conditioner and brush. It is designed to remove the lose undercoat. I use it all of the time! I have included a link to the webpage. What is a good brush to use on a shedding pom puppy?
I use the slicker brush, greyhound comb. and a rake for this

I don't care for the furminator as they really aren't make for a lot of these thick haired dogs
get an undercoat rake and possibly a Furminator. Both work well on double coated breeds.
Go on amazon.com and search pom puppy brush and pick one and click get new, or Ebay if you don't mind having a used one, I like amazon better i never win bids.
try the universal red slicker brush it's a good brush that all groomers will use
try a metal dog comb it gets most of the hair my dog is shedding

How to clean a brush that was used for staining?

I was told to put the brush under water. But it only became little gooey! Must I wash the brush in running ( cold or hot ) water after use? Should the brush be bone dry before using it again? How to clean a brush that was used for staining?
Ok First of all Most stain you need mineral Spirts to clean the brush out.

Most of the stains and clear coat materials out on the market will say right on the front of the can WATER BASED.

When it says this you clean it with warm water.

Other then that you need Min-Spi to clean the brush out.

Next part of your question when you clean your brush out it does not need to be 100%dry but you need to get as much of the min-spi out you can do this by whipping it or placeing a dry rag down on a flat surface put the brush on it then fold the rag over and press down.

Always remember when you clean a brush out no matter how good you do this 99% of the time after the brush dries out and when you go to use it again it will seem stiff all you need to do is brush your hand it will make the brush nice and soft again.

PS- Always read the can before use. If you were to use Min-Spi on a water based stain the Brush can never be used again for water based again.

A thing to remember just like with paint

Latex paint you can always paint with latex or oil paint.

But oil based paint you cant use latex on it.

Once a brush or roller has been used for stain or oil thats all it could ever be used for again.

But you could use a latex brush and go to oil but not back.

And also the other answer that was givin if you were to use a brush and use it again 8 hours later you could rap it up but it would be better to put it in a can of Min-Spi this will make sure it dont dry up all all and all you need to do is whip it and dry it with the rag as good as you can.

I have been in the field for 20 years and most people ruin brushes like this all the time.

Read The can and Take your time

GoodluckHow to clean a brush that was used for staining?
If the brush doesn't apear to be coming clean in water, then you can try warm water and some light soap. If this does not work, then you can try mineral spirits. The container the stain comes in should tell you exactly how to clean the brushes.

When I stained my deck last year I used cheapo brushes and just threw them away afterwards. They cost like $1.00, worked great and clean-up was much better. On one occasion tho I did re-use the brush the next day.

You wouldn't be using a $15.00 brush to apply stain anyway more than likely because it is a very think liquid and does not show brush marks. If you are staining large area you'd be using a roller anyway.

Place the brush (bristle end) in a plastic baggie of some kind and put a rubber band around it to keep it kind of sealed. It will be fine the next day.

You just don't want it to get dirty or dry out.

What type of brush is best to use for a great danes short fur?

what type of brush/comb is best to use on a great danes, really short fur, and wont end up cutting or hurting them? What type of brush is best to use for a great danes short fur?
You know what I found works best for all different fur types is a horse brush. It looks like a loop at the top of a handle with little waves on the side of it. You can pick them up at petco. It smooths out the top hairs and brushes out the loose undercoat hairs that are shedding. It won't cut and even though it doesn't look like anything special, they work amazingly well. What type of brush is best to use for a great danes short fur?
A Zoom Groom is ideal..you can find these at most pet stores and pet catalogs and they aren't very expensive.

  • How do you brush your tounge without feeling like your gonna throw up?

Everytime i try to brush my tounge i end up only getting the front part, and when i try to brush the back part i feel like im gonna throw up. What method can i use to get the back part of my tounge clean without throwing up?How do you brush your tounge without feeling like your gonna throw up?
Stay calm, don't think about it and KEEP BREATHING!How do you brush your tounge without feeling like your gonna throw up?
Its tough having a bad gag reflex. I would suggest taking deep breaths and concentrating on the breathing through your nose and brushing at the same time. Or sometimes humming while you brush can help too. What that will do is relax you, and take your mind away from what you're doing. Also, I haven't suggested this before with patients gagging while brushing, but what I like to do with patients with strong gag reflex is I put some salt on the back of their tongue before I need to do anything far back in their mouth. maybe its worth a try, good luck!
I have your problem! Then I got a toothbrush with a like scrubby thing on the back of the bristle part. I now can scrub my tounge with no problem! its like a rubber padding thing on the back of the top of the brush.
I get that also, I have a really sensitive gag reflex, so even if my toothbursh goes back on my tongue, i instantly get that feeling, I do what katie does, do it really quickly, and get it over with.
Lol. I used to have that problem. I just stick my tongue out and scrub real quick in the back and use a good mouth wash.
