What to do with a puppy afraid of brush?

My puppy is a type that does need to be brushed twice a week. But brushing him is always a long, complicated event because is afraid of the brush and will sometimes back/ run away from it or bark at it or try to attack it. He is 10 weeks old.

Thanks in advance for any help. What to do with a puppy afraid of brush?
Puppies are incredibly cute at this age, but will also be scared by a shadow! I would try to have the brush around him as much as possible, especially when not in use, to get him used to it's presence. Encourage him to smell it, touch it and generally become comfortable with it. Put it down at his level so it doesn't seem so big. (But don't let him chew it!) When you do brush him, try putting some of his food in his bowl, or some treats, so he can associate being brushed with something pleasureable. If you have another person there, have them occasionally feed him treats or hold a teething bone for him to gnaw on. This will take his attention away from, ';What is this huge spiky thing being waved over my head?!'; Speak soothingly while you are brushing and every time he lets you brush him without complaint, praise him. Hopefully you will only need to do this for a couple of weeks until it is just part of his normal routine. What to do with a puppy afraid of brush?
I think it's because it's something he's not used to. My puppy used to be afraid of leashes, so I think the best thing for you to do is slowly let him get used to brushing. Show him the brush, let him sniff it, put it on the floor near him, let him approch it and get used to it. Let him see that the brush isnt a threat to him
Try cutting his hair short so its not so long and it won't take long to brush it. Try giving him a treat when your done and he'll start to like it. If all else fails try putting him on the leash and loop it on something and then pet, console, and brush him, then give him a treat.

Good Luck to you and your puppy.

P.S. visit drsfoster%26amp;smith.com you can get some very nice treats and things to clean thier eyes and ears.

Put on your doggie coat and boots too. Dogs get cold just like us and need to stay warm. Also put on those booties before going out! The ice can get stuk inbetween and on his toes and feet which can cause frost bite.
My pup used to be afraid of the brushing too...I used to put peanut butter in his kong and give it to him when I started to brush him...he was so distracted by the kong that he had no idea I was brushing him...he also started to associate treats and good things with the brush so I was able to brush him without the kong after awhile...
The first person that answer you? Her name is.....

Kale............!

She is right!

I will say the very same thing give it a try.

Good luck.
Make it fun for him, brush him for short periods and give him treats, don't give him time or the opportunity to bark at it or bite it. Pick him up and pet him and brush him gently while you are petting him and giving him treats.

  • How do you clean a boar bristle basting brush? Can it go in the dishwasher?

Ha! Say THAT 6 times fast.

Anyway, it's a Pampered Chef basting brush, and my husband and I disagree about how to clean it, especially after using it with oils. How do you clean a boar bristle basting brush? Can it go in the dishwasher?
I'm a Pampered Chef consultant, but I don't have the boar bristle brush. I looked on our website. It just says to hand wash it. --Not too specific, eh?

I would soak it in HOT water first, then wash with water that's not too soapy.

I'll ask some other consultants what they do.

We have discontinued that product, though we still have the BBQ version. The new basting brush is made of silicone and is a cinch to clean.

    Good luck!

How often do you change your lavatory cleaning brush?

Is yours a brush to match a fancy container, to be used until the decor is changed, or do you replace often with the plain plastic cheapy from local supermarket? How often do you change your lavatory cleaning brush?
Take no notice of answers above if they don't like the question they don't have to answer itHow often do you change your lavatory cleaning brush?
There's no need to change it if you keep it spotless. I never put it back in the container dirty. Pour neat bleach on it (watch your clothes) and swish it around in the loo until it's clean. I also keep a bit of bleachy water in the container all the time, replacing it every few days, and I buy the cheapo one from Tesco if I need a new one, but they last for years if kept clean.
I don't like lavatory brushes. We never had one when I was a kid either. They harbour germs and look disgusting (you can see what they are used to remove-yeuch!) when you see them in other people's loos. I just wipe off any 'accidents' left on the toilet bowl with toilet roll then flush it away and use a toilet cleaner/bleach around the toilet pan. This is much more hygienic than a brush left 'hanging around'.
I don't know if this is a serious question. But incase it is...I don't use those toilet cleaning brushed. They are infested with nasty bacteria. Instead I use the toilet wand with the changable head. Then when I use one I just flush it down. I know it's bad for the environment and all, but I'd rather not have all that nasty bacteria in my bathroom.
you are better off not having one of these revolting things, put a rubber glove on plenty of bleach and scrub the loo with a scratchy pad, the sort you use for washing up. If the loo is done every day it stays beautiful and clean. I think these are just harbingers of germs yuk
When I moved into a house a few months ago that I'm renting with a friend, there was a toilet brush still in the bathroom. When we tried to move it, it was stuck inside the holder (gross!) so we ditched it and got a new cheapo one.
This is an odd question, but I'll play along...

Our lavatory brush is one of those that has a not-so-fancy container that goes with it. I don't replace those brushes that often, but I clean them with bleach twice a year.
Haven't needed to change it as yet, we just pop it into the dishwasher on occasion and it comes out as good as new.
dont use loo brushes as they carry germs even when u have been usin bleach in loo i use rubber gloves with a sponge and bleach. get to where u need instead of missin places.
Change them when they need it. Bleach every week. What a nosy question. You don't have enough things to think about.
I change mine as soon as the old one starts to taste funny.
what sort of person asks that question over the internet?

    and y do u need 2 no

    its a toilet brush

change it when it starts 2 smell

How do I adjust the carburetor on my brush saw?

My saw is spewing out blue smoke, more than it should anyhow. I use correct fuel/oil ratio, so I think it must the the carb settings. Which screw do I adjust and do I turn it left or right? How do I adjust the carburetor on my brush saw?
Turn both screws clockwise 1/8 turn. If you go hog-wild and turn them in a lot, it will burn-up your engine! Just remember the fuel is where the engine gets it's lubrication from too!How do I adjust the carburetor on my brush saw?
First off, what brand of oil are you using, and does it meet the specs for chainsaws and the like? Many people make the mistake of using oil made for snowmobiles and outboard motors and such which will not be of sufficient quality for the much faster revving saw engine, and they do not have the proper additive package needed to reduce the smoke. Now to the carb question- assuming you have the proper oil and proper mix, the carb should only be adjusted if there are idling or high speed problems. Depending on your specific model saw, there should be 3 screws on the side of the carb- for low speed adjustment, high speed adjustment and idle speed. First start the saw and slowly turn the low speed screw in a little then out a little taking note of the speed while you do this-it may take a few times to get it right but when the engine speed is the fastest low speed, you have it right. Now reset the idle speed so it is just below clutch engagement speed-you may need to tweak low speed screw again. Then with throttle wide open, adjust the high speed screw in then out to achieve highest speed obtainable, and that's about it for that, but to me it sounds like possibly your mix might be a little rich, especially if your saw is 20 or more years old and you are using the newer oil made for leaner mixtures, as the older saws need a mix of 20 or 30 to 1, and the newer oils work best at 40 or 50 to 1, even in older saws.
its not the carburetor its the oil you are using

How often and for how long should you brush and floss your teeth at 19?

Also, should you clean your gums at a separate time with just water? How often and for how long should you brush and floss your teeth at 19?
Providing you don't particularly need a filling often, at 19 you'll have all your teeth (with your wisdoms coming through possibly), and should be brushing at least twice a day with a fluoride toothpaste. It's normally recommended you brush for at least 2 minutes, 30 seconds per quarter of your mouth (upper left/upper right/lower left/lower right).

I would also suggest brushing from the back teeth, forwards, as these are commonly most ignored.

You should aim to floss before brushing, twice a day, however if you can only floss once a day, do it before bedtime.

There isn't a real need to clean your gums at a seperate time, however mouthwashing twice a day often improves the condition of your gums too.How often and for how long should you brush and floss your teeth at 19?

What is the best way to remove a brush hair on wet canvas?

It's happened to us all, we are busily working to blend something and notice a brush hair has come off on our painting. Its so hard to pick it off and not leave a pit in the paint, or if we brush at it, we get an effect that we don't want. So what is the best way to remove a hair, or lint from a wet painting without creating trouble? What is the best way to remove a brush hair on wet canvas?
If I'm doing a portrait or more surrealistic painting I always keep a pair or small-tipped tweezers nearby. I have found out from years of painting that the tweezers work much better than any pallet knife or fingernail. If you lift it straight up and gently it shouldn't mar the effect you are creating very much.

Also, if you haven't used certain brushes for awhile or are using newly bought ones it always helps to 'dry brush' the brush on a neutral surface to make sure and remove any loose bristles. You can run the brush across the palm of your hand a few times (or any surface matter) and this should do the trick. What is the best way to remove a brush hair on wet canvas?
first may be best to make sure any hairs that are lose be removed before painting, and may be indication to get a new brush, use the brush at hand to re-attach hair back to brush, and clean brush, also have a spare thin flat brush handy, and use the brush hairs to remove the hair,

    read other answers,

    ..
Pallet knife very carefully lift it off and ifit leaves a mark touch it up
If I can't lift it with my fingernail, I keep a dry (old) brush handy to sort of lift up the bristle that's in the paint and pick it up that way.
Let it dry, and then do it then; if anything messes up touch it up.

When the brush fires hit southern california every year, is it always the work of arsonists?

I mean every year it happens! I was born and raised there, and remember riding my bike up into the Santa Monica mountains when i was a kid, to see the firefighters and the smoke and flames. Just last night, a new wildfire hit the Santa Barbara area, in the town of Montecito, destroying at least 70 homes. Those Santa Ana winds are notorious for help fan the flames, but isn't it really the work of arsonist(s) in this case, usually? What's everyone think?

When the brush fires hit southern california every year, is it always the work of arsonists?
I know where you're coming from! I'm from Santa Barbara and just this year there have been 3 different fires! (HORRIBLE!!)

As easy as it is to put the blame on arsonists, sometimes mother earth plays a huge roll. I'm not saying that there aren't evil people out there who intentionally start fires, but living in an area with sooo much vegetation, it's almost hard for fires not to start. Yup, as lovely as Southern Cali is, we always have that worry in the back of our minds that a wild fire might break out any moment... wether it be winter, spring, summer, or fall. When the brush fires hit southern california every year, is it always the work of arsonists?
Could their homes be in foreclosure? Maybe they set the fires to collect insurance instead of losing it all due to foreclosure. In this economy, how many people can afford homes of that size in that location? Not everyone has Oprah's income.
It's just God punishing California for being dirty heathens.

In about 24 hours depending on size. Less for smaller brushes.

Next time you go shopping, get a few additional brushes, for that reason (plus they're just good to have). Try to get real hair brushes if you can though, they're much softer and apply makeup very well.
    about 24 hours
im not sure how long it will take to dry but if you wash it at night it will definetely by dry by the time yu wake up the next morning

but after yu wash it dry it with the paper towel so most of the water is soaked out and also squeeze the brush in the towel but not so hard yu dun want to mess up yur brush just so the excesss water will come out

How do you keep Modge Podge from showing brush strokes on your paper?

When I use Modge Podge to coat my greeting cards it always leaves brush strokes. I have tried using a sponge painter, but it does the same thing. Will they be lighter if I add more than one coat? How do you keep Modge Podge from showing brush strokes on your paper?
Use a sponge brush. They're cheap, disposable, and they don't leave brush strokes.

I've gotten the small 1'; ones on sale at Michael's for ten for a dollar. How do you keep Modge Podge from showing brush strokes on your paper?
More than one coat might help. Try adding a TINY amount of water to soften the Modge Podge first...just to thin it out a bit, and apply the second coat in the opposite direction. If that doesn't work, try again with a third coat in the same direction as the first. This is just an idea, but it might work! I would also try a really soft bristle brush that is kind of wide and work quickly because the MP dries really fast!

How to brush up on soccer skills fast?

Do a lot of mental work, and by that i mean think of being able to do whatever you want on the field and that's how it will be.
I have played soccer for a LONG time. the really easy thing to make your soccer skills and ball handling skills pretty good is juggling.

You can do this like any free time you have. You can do it during commercials while watching tv, or if you have a slow internet connection (terror upon terror) while your page is loading.

Also, another thing you can do to improve ball handling is doing pendulums and step-ups. Also simple moves like step-overs, croiffs, and scissors.

Most of the time, people who train using simple methods like this will definately make the team. Good luck!
If you can't go outside to play, spend an hour a day on the old treadmill or excercise bike. You will naturally improve if you improve you leg strength.
well just do simple drill like dribbling, corner kicks, etc..., etc, simple things like that are a big part of try-outs and soccer! Good Luck on your try-outs! have fun!!!

Is there a difference between mineral spirits and brush cleaner?

I have a project that calls for mineral spirits. I have paint brush cleaner on hand. Are they comparable? Do they have the same active ingredients? What's the difference? Is there a difference between mineral spirits and brush cleaner?
Funny you should ask. I recently bought some Varsol since it was recommended as being better for brush cleaning than mineral spirits, which is often labelled as paint thinner. Varsol, however, says it contains mineral spirits. The difference seems to be that Varsol is purer, and I am finding that it cleans brushes better.

So, check the label on your brush cleaner. If it says that it contains mineral spirits, then that's what it is. If it doesn't say that, I wouldn't substitute it for mineral spirits as it may be based on some other chemical. Is there a difference between mineral spirits and brush cleaner?
they probably use for the same thing, oil base paints use mineral spirits for clean ups, water base paints use water for clean ups, hope that helps.

What is the proper number of times to brush your teeth every day?

I hear so many different answers too this question all the time.

How many times a day should you brush your teeth? Everyone always says either 2 or they say 3. Some say 2 - 3.

So make up your mind people which is it?

Right now I brush before I head out in the morning and before I go too bed.

How often do you guys brush out there? What is the proper number of times to brush your teeth every day?
you should brush at least 2 times a day. the bacterial plaque biofilm on your teeth needs to be dusrupted once every 12 hours to help prevent gingivitis and the formation of calculus (tartar) on the teeth. brushing an extra time in the day will not hurt, but its not necessary. once in the morning and once at night is fine. and be sure to floss at least once a day too.

when it comes to brushing, its not the quantity, its the quality. its better to have one good brush during the day then 2 crappy ones. next time you go to the dentist for a cleaning, ask your hygienist to show you the prober brushing techniques. most people do not know how to brush properly (no cavities doesnt mean your brushing properly...75% of adults have gingivitis)What is the proper number of times to brush your teeth every day?
My dentist has told me to brush twice a day for a minimum of two minutes.
My cousin is a dental hygenist and she says 3 times a day in the am after work vand at bed time also need to floss ur vteeth 2 times a day so it will prevent gum disease! Flossing is more important than brushing
    u do it 3 times a day

    for 2 mins
Its best to brush your teeth after every meal...or every time you eat...so that would, for most people be about 3 times a day. Otherwise your lunch sits on your teeth, slowly decaying. Its still good and the minimum to brush twice...once in morning after breakfast and once in the evening, after the last time you eat, before you to bed. I brush twice since I don't like to brush at work. My dentist seems to focus more on flossing (once a day) and gums than brushing and teeth though
My mother told me that I am going to brush my teeth 2 times for 5 minutes.........

What is the correct way to brush your teeth? And how long should you spend brushing them?

Many dentist offices that I have visited has had A LOT of different '; correct'; ways to brush your teeth. I just would like to know if the correct way is up, and down, left, and right, or if there is any other '; correct'; way to brush your teeth. I also spend about 15 min. brushing mine. Is that good, or bad? What is the correct way to brush your teeth? And how long should you spend brushing them?
I've worked in a dental office assisting and stuff, and a lot of my family members are dentists, so I've had to grow up learning about the right way to brush your teeth. This is actually an EXCELLENT question, as you will find many people simply don't know. Therefore, I'm very glad you asked!

The ';correct'; way is actually a combination. Think of your mouth as having four quadrants. You have the top left, bottom left, top right, and bottom right fourths of your mouth. Generally you should spend 30 seconds per quadrant, focusing on moving your brush in little circles on your teeth. You want to also ';brush'; your gums in this manner. You can also take your brush and go up and down across your teeth, but it can be harder to do this in the back.

Also, you need to focus on the fact that each tooth has five surfaces that need to be cleaned. Of course you hear the fact that you need to floss frequently, and this is imperative. Those are two of the five surfaces when you take the floss down beside both sides of your tooth. Of course, the other three are the front, chewing surface, and back. You need to adequately brush ALL of the surfaces. It is also important to remember to brush your tongue afterwards (before you rinse) so that you can remove the plaque and everything that has collected on your tongue. Always floss before you brush for the same reasons. This will loosen things up and then you will brush it away better.

Another thing to remember is that more time and harder brushing is not necessarily BETTER. You need to brush WELL and get everything clean, but it does not mean that you need a hard-bristled brush where you scrub your teeth for 30 minutes a day. The goal is to remove the plaque, not polish a tire! If you brush too hard and too long, you can actually wear down the enamel on your teeth (the hard, protective top surface), and cause more problems.

Mouthwash can be useful if you are prone to gingivitis or your dentist recommends it. You probably don't need to use it every single time you brush, however.

The ideal dental care comes from brushing after you eat each meal (or 2-3 times a day), flossing once a day, and seeing your dentist twice a year, or more, if necessary.

Good luck! :-DWhat is the correct way to brush your teeth? And how long should you spend brushing them?

I did not know that you could actually damage your teeth by brushing too long. Now, I will start brushing my teeth in a shorter time period! Thank you so much for your answer! :) Report Abuse

the best way my dentist told me is to do circles. 15 min. for brushing is a LOT and can actually damage your gums because of all the scraping you are doing. you should go at least 2 min. and no more than 4.
Brush them with gentle round moves, also massaging the gum, for about 5 minutes every time, at least 3 times a day.
You should brush your teeth for a total of 2 minutes. When you brush the top teeth angle the toothbrush upward and brush them in a circular motion massaging your gums at the same time, when you brush the bottom teeth angle the brush downward in a circular motion massaging your gums also. When you brush the part of the teeth that you chew on just brush them straight and the front teeth brush them with the toothbrush going outward. Don't forget to floss. If you brush your teeth for 15 min. you can actually wear your teeth out. That is not good.
i think 15 mins is bad for your teeth
Brushing your teeth is very important to have good oral care. I don't believe their is just one correct way to brush your teeth. That has been a great debate topic for years. What is important is that you brush the front and back of ALL teeth at least twice a day. Remember that the purpose of brushing is to remove the excess plaque buildup before it hardens on the teeth (once that happens, it can only be removed by dental instruments). Another important step to having good clean teeth is to floss and use mouth wash regularly. This will also help provide healthy gums.

    Hope this helps
what you do is, you get a long stick of liquorice, fold it in half and dip it in strawberry jam (marmalade will do if you have none, or even blueberry jam, but definitely not raspberry jam or lemon curd) Rub each tooth with this concoction separately, until they are coated. Then get some coke, slosh it in your mouth for 17 minutes and gargle. Spit out, repeat.

To give your teeth a classy polish, take a dab of honey and spread onto each tooth.
Mine says a circular motion for 2 minutes.
brush in small circles, and all sides of your teeth

sing the ';happy birthday'; song twice for the length
It's funny you posted this because I was reading this site just yesterday.

    http://www.doctorspiller.com/Prevention.鈥?/a>

This site has perfect instruction on how to care for your teeth. Even how to floss, brush with pictures. I sent this site to my kids and my nieces and nephews. Proper care of your teeth will give you a healthy mouth and smile.
My dentist (who is great by the way) told me that the best way to brush is in circles. The length of your favorite song is what he tells me is the best gauge of time is to brush your teeth.

    Good Luck
Ideally, use a soft toothbrush. Medium and Hard brushes are too hard on the gums and can cause recession. Brush in small, soft circles and be sure to brush the front, top, and back of all teeth, as well massage your gums with the brush (also using small, soft circles). When you are finished, be sure to brush your tongue. As far as time, you should spend one minute per quadrant (quadrants = bottom left/bottom right/top left/top right).
I think just hit the back front and sides of all your teeth and your fine, it doesn't matter if you go left to right or in circles or whatever.

It only takes about 3 minutes to get your mouth clean. If you are seriously brushing for 15, that is bad for your enamel and gums.
My dentist says you should brush up and down for about 3 minutes. I always floss my teeth and then brush for about 2 mins.
I think the correct way to brush your teeth is in circular motions. And you should only brush every side and your tongue then stop.
I just brush and floss without thinking about it and I haven't had any cavities in years. Also you should use mouthwash too. Also, if you spend 15 minutes brushing your teeth, your gums will eventually bleed.
You brush your teeth for 3 min.

In the front, you brush either up and down or in a circular motion.

In the back, you brush side to side.
You are not supposed to brush back and forth like most people do. You tilt the brush at a 45 degree angle, and brush each tooth thoroughly and on all sides. It should take 2 to 3 minutes. 15 minutes is pretty excessive. If you are obsessed over getting your teeth whitened, then splurge 40 bucks or so and get some Whitestrips.

We are clearing fence rows, well it is actually a old railroad right of way . and we want to burn all of it and try to get the land ready to plant come spring. we dug a huge hole, isnt working. we have heard about mounting a big bin drying fan mounted on the back of a tractor and injecting deisel into the fan and burning it that way but we havent tried it yet. Any Ideas???Is there a good way to burn green brush?
I would discuss your ideas and options with the local extension service. Depending on where you live, live fires may be extremely dangerous. The use of fuels is very toxic to the environment.

For brush, cut it and haul it (or safely burn it if allowed). Same with trees. It sounds like you are attempting to create a prescribed burn, which is very dangerous and should only be performed by experienced personnel. Is there a good way to burn green brush?
You'll have to dry the brush before trying to burn it or yank it out by hand if you cannot use herbicides in your area.

What is the purpose of using a round brush to dry your hair?

Ok, so this may be a really dumb question, but... I have always blow dried my hair just by flipped it over and stuff and getting it all dry. But I've seen lots of people use round brushes for blow drying their hair. Is it to add volume or shape or something? Like I said, this is probably a really dumb question but I honestly want to know the reason. What is the purpose of using a round brush to dry your hair?
Yep, you're exactly right. It adds volume and shape! Its called a blowout. Girls with not naturally straight hair do this to skip the steps of a flat iron. If they blow dry it with a round brush it gives the illusion that they flat ironed it, and then curled under/flipped out the ends.

People also use a round brush for bangs, or the crown of the hair to add height and smoothness. What is the purpose of using a round brush to dry your hair?
It adds volume, but blow drying in upside down also does the same thing, i have naturally wavy hair and in order for me to have straght hair i blow dry it upside down, i like it alot cause its faster and mu hair is thick.

Blow drying it with a round brush adds texture to hair, you can also LIGHTLY, when i say lighty i meant it, lol, you can roll the hair into it and make loose curls. i wouldnt advise it unless your hair is very silky and you used a moistizing conditioner. theres several things you can do with blow drying your hair with different brushes.

    Good luck!
    yeah, you're right.

blame it alllll on the mint/mentholWhy does orange juice taste bad after you brush your teeth?
Well, the flavor from your toothpaste and other chemicals react with the slight acid in the orange juice, creating a paper-ish, watery taste.
    Because of the fluoride toxic.

    http://www.greaterthings.com/Lexicon/F/F鈥?/a>
everything does to me any way u should wait 30 min. before u eat or drink anything after u brush and especially after mouth wash
Orange juice and soap (toothpaste) never went well for me either. The remnants of the toothpaste in your mouth will surely mess up the taste of orange juice. God Bless you.
Almost anything tastes bad after you brish your teeth. I actually like the taste of orange juice after I brush my teeth. Dont ask why
i dont know about orange juice and toothpaste but trust me orange juice and cheese is horrible!
the toothpaste residue left in your mouth probably reacts with the acidity of the orange juice..that's my guess.
haha i always wonder about that too! idk i think its maybe from the type of ingredients that dont taste too good with orange juice.
The acidic value of the orange juice and the taste of the tooth paste = not good
The cold is the reaction to the menthol, but my question is, what tasts good after brushing your teeth
It's the taste of the toothpaste (I don't use menthol or mint flavored toothpaste). It makes my teeth hurt from the cold %26amp; feels too sterilized.
everything tastes bad after you brush your teeth
I don't know, but if you want something worse, eat peanuts and then take a sip of coffee.
lol, i always wondered the same thing..or how come its all extra cold after too\
because minty paste does not mix well with oranges. think about it
because mint and orange juice were never meant to mix.
the tooth paste , doesn't go with the orange juice i suspect
it doesn't. it tastes bad after you drink milk
wow! LOL... I was thinking the same thing last week

What is a cost effective way to remove brush and leaves that I have already cut down?

I cleared out a fence row on my property and have a huge pile of brush to get rid of. The town I live in does not do bulk pickup. Any ideas? What is a cost effective way to remove brush and leaves that I have already cut down?
Remove them with your hands or a leaf blower !iWhat is a cost effective way to remove brush and leaves that I have already cut down?
Putting wood chips around your property attracts TERMITES!! Be very vigilant if you do. Report Abuse

I'd rent a wood chipper/mulcher to cut down the leaves and branches and then reuse the chips as mulch for a nice-looking garden cover. That would cost anywhere from $30 to $50 a day.

Wood mulch is the most pleasing ground cover for a garden. You could also sell the mulch at a local farmer's market or advertise in the local newspaper.

Mulching may not be cheaper than burning, but it is more environmentally sound and simply makes good sense.
Spread leaves and small brush on your lawn. Set your mower blade a little lower than normal and have at it. It will mulch your grass and create a great soil if done often.

The large stuff: look around for a ';Stump Dump'; that takes only biodegradable stuff. Ask any building contractor where one is

    I hope this helps, Jerry
If your area allows you to burn that would be very cost effective. Use Kerosene not gasoline and stay with it until the burning is done. Have your hose and a rake at hand. Chipping and spreading it on your flower beds could introduce weed seeds or disease to your flower beds.
You could get a cheap electric chipper for the brush and put the pellets back on your flower borders for weed control, the leaves can be got up with a plastic rake which is great exercise for the waist! hope this helps.
Try to break it down smaller, and put it in a corner, so that it can become a mulch pile in about a year.
you can chip them or which this is the idea I like better you could have a big bon fire and them the ash can be used as fertilizer or go in to compost. hope this helps

Can I brush my teeth and use listerine before surgical wisdom teeth removal?

My procedure is in 2 hours. I forgot to ask the surgical dentist because it didn't really occur to me to ask until I woke up now. I know I can't eat 8 hours prior. Can I brush my teeth and use listerine before surgical wisdom teeth removal?
Yes, just don't swallow any water or Listerine. Can I brush my teeth and use listerine before surgical wisdom teeth removal?
yes and rinse with water throughly. don't swallow any of it either AND don't use these afterwards, follow your surgeons instructions carefully. take care.
I think you can. When you come to some dental office they give you a cup of mouth rinse first. So, I think it is OK.
No, don't do it. I wouldn't even put anything in my mouth.
Yes that should not be a problem as none of it you will ingest.
well I'm not to sure, but you probably shouldn't. better to be safe than sorry.
As long as you don't drink or eat anything brushing and gargling should be fine. That's what I did before my procedure. Good Luck.
    you should
please brush, your dentist will thank you, also brushing removes bacteria and other germs, which is good because the dentist will be cutting into you and you want to be as germ free as possible. Just make sure you spit it out. the whole 8 hours of not eating is to prevent you from throwing up and choking, which could lead to other problems.
i don';t see anything wrong with brushing ur teeth---its not like u are eating and swallowing stuff---brush---i'm sure the dentist would rather u not have a stinky mouth anyway--lol---altho most dentists i have been too have the worst breath u can imagine
well probably, listerine kills bacteria so since they will be taking out your wisdom teeth you probably want your mouth to be as sterile as possible
Why not?...........remeber to eat a good meal before your surgery as you may be advised not to chewon thatside after surgery.ok?
Yes. It's ok. It will clean unwanted germs and bacteria. No problem.
yes, but i wouldnt advise the use of listerine as if you look at the ingredients it contains alcohol that actually promotes bacterial growth, plus leads to slower healing so brush your teeth and just swill with water. use an alcohol free mouthwash like oral B
They don't want you eating because you're going under. I would say it's a good thing to brush and rinse before you go.
Yes to both. PLEASE DO ... the dentist doesn't want to have to deal with 'mouth slime' while he's taking those teeth out!
It's cleaning your teeth and using a germ killer/ breath freshener. I think your dentist would appreciate it if your breath didn't smell bad.

    DO IT.
Go for it...the doctor will appreciate the fresh breath...but do NOT swallow anything as they want a stable well digested stomach.
Yes, you can. Just don't swallow it.
I had oral surgery over the summer, and I also had my wisdom teeth removed (I think it was just my case, but I had BAD expierence there...sorry, don't mean to scare you...) but I remember them telling me not to eat 12 hours in advance and I THINK you can brush your teeth a little, but don't over do it on the tooth paste. I think...I can't remember.

    Good luck during surgery. :]
Just make sure you don't swallow any mouth wash. It is preferable that your mouth is clean before surgery. Be sure you rinse well. Good luck!
I am sure you can... But you should always ask in advance, just in case.

Can I brush my dogs teeth with Colgate toothpaste and a regular toothbrush?

I love my little pup, but his breath smells like a thousand dirty armpits sometimes. Can I brush his teeth with Colgate, or is that bad for him?Can I brush my dogs teeth with Colgate toothpaste and a regular toothbrush?
Dont use people toothpaste as it is not to be swallowed and unless you have taught your dog to rinse and spit..... and for all the people who are advocating the pet store toothpaste, you need to look up the ingredients! If I woouldn't put it in my mouth, it is not going in my dogs mouth! Too solve this dilemma, I thought of using BBQ sauce! My dog loves to have her teeth brushed and it wont hurt her, yay. And as for the tooth brush, the ones you buy at the pet store or vet are designed to fit better in your dogs mouth than a human tooth brush. Their lips tend to get in the way if your toothbrush is to big. Good luck and happy brushing :)

EDIT: I also use tweezers to scrape off the plaque that won't brush off. YOu could try this assuming your dogs teeth are not too dirty. This is the stuff that smells and it hardens onto the teeth and doesn't come off unless it is scraped by something like a bone, chew toy or you. Just make sure you don't scrape the gum and don't force your animal to stay put for you, if he can only handle one tooth at a time, then by all means do one tooth a day until he will sit and relax for you! This works great for me, I just took my 5 years olc cats to the vet and she said they had beautiful teeth. If you can afford it, then you could also simply take your dog to the vet and get a proper tooth cleaning. Can I brush my dogs teeth with Colgate toothpaste and a regular toothbrush?
You absolutely shouldn't use a people toothbrush or people toothpaste on your puppy for the following reasons:

    1. NEVER brush your dog’s teeth with human toothpaste – it can make your dog sick! Use special enzymatic toothpaste made especially for dogs. The same goes for oral rinses.

    2. Plaque begins to turn into tartar / calculus within 24-48 hours, so daily brushing is recommended. Work your dog’s tooth brushing into your own routine – consider brushing his teeth around the same time you do yours so it will be easier to remember.

    3. Use a “finger brush” or special long toothbrush designed for use on dogs. When starting out, the finger brush can help ease your dog into it, as these do not feel as awkward as hard brushes.

    4. Before you begin, ask your veterinarian to show you some techniques to make tooth brushing easier on you and your dog.

    5. If you are not able to brush your dog’s teeth, there are other options. Consider using oral rinses made especially for dogs. You can also purchase special dental treats. Avoid real bones – not only can they lead to gastrointestinal upset, they may also cause tooth fractures.

    NO!

Many human toothpastes contain xylitol which is toxic to dogs

    flouride is also toxic

human toothpastes are meant to be ';rinsed and spit';.. which dogs are not able to do.. if you read the toothpaste package, it even tells you to call poison control if accidently ingested!

Use DOG toothpaste, or use baking soda to brush the teeth.

Yes you can use a human toothbrush.. I use a child's toothbrush on my dog. If you use an adult brush, choose one with soft bristles.
No do not use regular human toothpaste on your dog, go to either your vet or a pet store and they will sell you a small dog tooth brush and dog tooth paste specially designed to clean your pups teeth and freshen his breath, and it is not expensive less than ten dollars. Daily brushing will keep his teeth healthy, and if brushing doesn't make a difference, then a trip to the vet is in order because bad breath is an indication of a serious illness, but brushing should do the trick.

And yes you can use a human toothbrush, as long as it is a smal soft bristle one. But a doggy toothbrush sometimes comes in the package with the dog toothpaste
Human toothbrush fine, human toothpaste, not fine. As mentioned, human toothpaste is designed to be used and spit, which dogs cannot do. And it can contain ingredients which are toxic to dogs. At best it will cause stomach upset; at worse, illness or death.

They sell ';doggie toothpaste'; at the pet store.
Yes, Yes, brush your dog's teeth, however, they have different taste than humans and will not like humans toothpaste. There are dog toothpastes. But, you need to also know that the real cause of your dog's bad breath is from the tongue, not the teeth, just like in humans, the major cause of bad breath is the tongue, not the teeth. To really get rid of bad breath (in dogs and humans) you must clean the tongue. OraBrush can be used on both humans and dogs. Here is the address: http://www.orabrush.com
Don't know why but people toothpaste is not recommended and may be harmful or a digestive problem. My experience is the dog looks forward to beef or chicken flavored paste. You can use a regular tooth brush but a finger brush is much more effective. $7-$10 at petsmart
No! Do not use toothpaste intended for people. Dogs will swallow it and it is not intended to be ingested.

You can use a dog toothpaste or plain water is fine also. You can use a baby toothbrush, but don't use a toothbrush meant for adults - it's too firm.
You can't use our toothpaste, it's not designed to be ingested.

You need to get toothpaste specifically designed for dogs, you can get this at the pet store, you can also get treats that help clean and freshen the breath.
Never use human toothpaste for a pet. Buy pet toothpaste, or simply wet a wash cloth and go over each of his teeth. Human toothpaste is very bad for dogs. Dog toothbrushes are better. They are something you slip on your finger and they are not at all costly.
I wouldn't because toothpaste has fluoride and its bad enough on a humans stomach when swallowed. If you want to clean their teeth you can buy doggie toothpaste. If you just want to get rid of that breath, try mint treats!
not a good idea, if you go to either PetSmart or Petco you will find special beef or chicken flavored toothpastes and toothbrushes that they sell just for a dog's mouth.
I would not suggest that. The pet stores have tooth paste specifically for dogs but yes, you can use a regular tooth brush.
I wouldn't take the risk-but at pet stores, they do sell dog toothpaste and ';mint'; treats for them. Usually at Pet-smart or something.
No human products. Go to your petshop or vet and get brushes and toothpaste made for dogs.
    hell yes you can.

  • What is the name of this desert tree/brush used for holiday decorations?

My mother in law has this tree/desert brush looking item that she says she got when she lived in California and she thinks it came from a desert. It is really smooth and a pale brown, almost like a river birch without the bark. It also looks like a weathered tree from the river or ocean. It is mounted to a platform that allows it to stand up and she decorates it for different holidays. How often should I wash my foundation brush?

I have a large Elizabeth Arden foundation brush. I'm just wondering how often I should wash it and with what? I don't want to ruin it.How often should I wash my foundation brush?
With a foundation brush it is important to wash it everytime you use it. Bacteria builds up inside the brush, it helps to just wash it with gentle soap and water every use to clear out any bacteria that got on from your last time using it or any bacteria from in beetween uses. If there is a time when you aren't wearing foundation at all or aren't using the brush to apply foundation you don't need to go out of your way to clean your brush, just wash it before you use the brush on your face. How often should I wash my foundation brush?
    every week
I work in cosmetics and we wash our brushes with just regular shampoo or soap. And you should wash it once a week or twice but it depends on how often you use it.
as often as possible, beware of bacteria
i wash it about every 10-12 days with regular hand sope. Why would i spend extra money on a brush this much..it was GWP:) by Lancome
    Once a week.
i say about once every week to keep baterias forming inside the brush to cause acnes! u can simply buy the brush cleaner at sally's or those cosmetic store. another option is to clean it with a mild soap with warm water. tips for cleaning with soap are, rinse with luke warm water, apply soap, gently rub brush from top to the bottom, squeeze out exceed foundation that was trapped in brush, rinse clean with warm water and air dry!
about once a week. they sell products to clean make up brushes so it will not ruin your brush. they sell one at mac make up for 9 $ here is the link to it

What are the differences between a dog brush and a dog comb?

When should I use a brush and when should i use a comb? How to purchase a brush or a comb that could suit my dog? My dog has long coat but i clip it short for most of the time. What are the differences between a dog brush and a dog comb?
A brush does a better job of cleaning debris off the skin and is a stimulant.A comb does a better job getting tangles out. What are the differences between a dog brush and a dog comb?
A brush is for more of a long haired dog. A comb is more for short haired dogs and for getting there hair just right for like a dog show.
one is a brush and une is a comb. use a comg when your dog is wet, and use a brush when the dog is dry
a comb is usually like a flea comb.

Brush most of the time unless you are tying to get fleas.

How long can you use a foundation brush?

I recently changed from comspetic sponges to the foundation brush but I'm not sure if I have to keep buying new ones. Are they the same as sponges or can I wash the brush? How long can you use a foundation brush?
You can use your foundation brush indefinitely as long as you take care of it. I'm a make-up artist and most of my brushes are over 10 yrs old or more!

First, purchase a good brush. Don't look for the cheapest or best bargain. For foundations use a Taklon brush if you're using cream or liquid foundations. For mineral make-ups use a kabuki brush. Most mineral foundations recommend a brush for their particular product and I'd opt for that choice if you're given one.

After using your brush each morning clean with a brush cleaner. Simply spray the brush with the cleaner and wipe on a paper towel until it comes free of color. Let it dry on it's side laying flat so that the cleaner doesn't puddle in the ferule of your brush (the metal part). This will keep your bristles clean and strong. Once a week wash all your brushes with baby shampoo. It's gentle and will rid your brush of any color that is rooted deep in the bristles. Again, let dry laying flat.

Here's a great brush cleaner from Cinema Secrets that smells great, cleans exceptionally and has taken care of my brushes for years: http://professionalsecrets.stores.yahoo.鈥?/a>

If you take care of your brushes, they should last years and years.

Good luck! How long can you use a foundation brush?
If you look after your brush by washing it regularly then you will be able to use it for ages!! It does make a difference however if it is a good quality brush. You can tell this by testing if the bristles come out easily, if so, I wouldn't buy it. It is always worth spending a bit more money on them!
wash it regulary and you will increase its life .. but once the hair of the brush starts to fall off, then it means its life span is over, get a new one
You can use it for a while as long as you are keeping it clean. You don't want any buildup or bacteria to form on it. Some places like Sallies Beauty Supply make a spray pump bottle of solution specifically made for cleaning blush brushes. I recommend it.
I think if you wash them once a week you can probably continue to use the brush for a long time. Just use rubbing alcohol and rinse off with some hot water to clean the brush. Then lay the brush to dry but with the brush side down so that water doesn't accumulate in the brush and cause bacteria to grow.
You sure can (should) wash your brush. The life of your brush depends on the quality of the brush. Ususally you pay what you pay for. An affordable but decent qulity brush is Sephora.
    30 times
Wash the brush, by all means, but don't do it with a soap that will irritate your skin when you use it. After all, you are using it for your skin!
I try to rinse mine once a month to prevent build-up. after you use it wipe it down with a tissue to keep it clean in the meantime. store it in a dry place, preferrebly covered by something so it doesn't gather dust and cause blemishes. you can buy special cleaners for your foundation brush.
i wash my foundation brush everynight becuase i use it every morning if you dont wash it and use it with yesterdays foundation on it, it could make your foundation look streaky and give you skin problems by putting bactria on your face. to wash your brushes put a bit of baby shampoo in some warm water and wash it.

  • What brush you use to Apply varnish to acrylic painting on canvas?

what brush do you use to apply varnish to acrylic paint? every brush i used get damaged and not spreading the varnish? can i mix varnish with water to dilute and make it running faster on canvas? if no what other alternativesWhat brush you use to Apply varnish to acrylic painting on canvas?
It is not necessary to ';varnish'; an Acrylic painting.

You can Lacquer with an Acrylic spray, these are available in a can.

To thin Varnish use either turps or white spirit.

Clean your brushes in water for Acrylics. And white spirit for oils and varnish.

use a wide medium soft brush if you are applying Varnish over a painting or applying ';washes'; of colour.

Go to an evening class or school for art and get advise on techniques,and/or, read a few book's too

Happy new year and enjoy your work..What brush you use to Apply varnish to acrylic painting on canvas?
Glad to have been of some help, kind regards. simon. Report Abuse

This makes absolutely no sense. Unless you're using a nylon brush in an oil-based varnish caustic enough to melt nylon(which you surely wouldn't use on an acrylic painting), I don't understand why there would be a problem brushing or spreading varnish. Most varnishes are brushed on. It's not supposed to be diluted, either.

Perhaps you should go to the art-supply store and buy the spray-on varnish for acrylic paintings. That way you'll avoid the whole brush dilemma.
Why are you using varnish on acrylic paint anyway???

Acrylics are basically plastic when dry. If anything, use a clear ACRYLIC coat over your finished painting if your looking for a shine.
u must use flat brush to apply varnish.

if u wanna dilute varnish use thinner or bit of kerosine as water wont work.

dont forget to dip and wash ur brushes with kerosine and later dip in warm water that wll make ur brushes soft %26amp; smooth.

What is the best type of cat brush to get for a medium length, fine furred cat?

I brush the cats regularly with a bristle brush but it just doesn't seem like the brush picks up enough fur. I also have a flea comb but they don't like it and it really pulls their fur and causes a tangle. I have 4 cats and need fur relief. What is the best type of cat brush to get for a medium length, fine furred cat?
I absolutely love this brush called the ';Furminator.'; It is stupidly expensive, but is the best brush I have ever owned. I highly recommend the investment, especially if you have four kitties! You will be astounded by how much fur you will brush away. What is the best type of cat brush to get for a medium length, fine furred cat?
If the fur's medium to long in length use a COMB - not a brush. The comb will gently remove loose hairs of the undercoat and leave the top coat intact. On medium to long coats brushes tend to pull out and break topcoat hairs and do little to remove the loose hairs of the undercoat.

This is the type of comb you should get. You can find them at most pet stores - check the dog section http://www.fidoandfelixpetcare.co.uk/img鈥?/a>

edit: don't use the Furminator on a cat's silky coat - it will destroy it.
I am a dog and cat groomer, and the best thing I have ever seen work is the Kong: Zoom Groom. It is just like a rubber curry for a horse. It is a rubber brush that (because a cats coat is so staticy and fine) uses static electricity to pull dead hair right out of the coat.

Anything with metal like the slicker or prickly like a bristle brush is going to break the hair and cause more static. The Zoom Groom wear down after a while and becomes rounded. You don't need any pressure and your cat will never become impatient with you!

Kong's site is listed below. Take a peek at what it looks like and see if you can find something like it in your local petstore. I've seen Petco carry them before in the dog isle since they work wonders on dogs as well. The only difference between the 2 is one is dog shaped and the other is cat shaped.
Try to find a fine-toothed comb - a little more space then the flea comb. Brushes don't to anything for a long hair cat except on the surface. You need to get to the skin to comb out tangles/knots.

Brushing your teeth will NOT make your teeth whiter.

If your teeth are yellow because of tatar then this could be removed by a dental hygienist.

If you want whiter teeth try a stain removing toothpaste, a whitening kit, or even professional dentist whitening.

What brush should I use for my heavy shedding puppy?

I have a 6 month old german shepherd/husky/lab mix and she sheds like CRAZY. There is always hair everywhere.

What kind of brush should I use for her to reduce the shedding? How many times should I brush her a week and for how long? She hates being brushed to so its kind of hard to get her to stay still. What brush should I use for my heavy shedding puppy?
Invest in a Furminator. I have it and it works wonders! It is designed to get deep down to the under coat, as well as the top coat. I recommend brushing daily for as long as she will allow. She will get used to it, trust me. I always brush my cat first because my dog is always following me around and waiting his turn, he used to hate being brushed! You can also get a shampoo designed to help with shedding, and bathe about once a month with that shampoo, it helps a lot! Good luck! What brush should I use for my heavy shedding puppy?
If she's so little, you might be good with a slicker brush. That's what I've been using on my 4 month old husky pup =]

As she gets older though, you'll probably need a shedding blade or undercoat rake. I've used both on my 7 year old GSD/husky mix and I personally like the undercoat rake best. I got it for $2.50 at walmart and it works wonderfully, pulling up all the loose fur from the bottom coat and top coat. Then I follow up with a slicker brush to get everything left behind and it looks like its snowed in my back yard because of all the fur xD The only drawback is that I can't really use it on my puppy because her fur isn't quite as thick yet, so you might be stuck with just a slicker until the full coat comes in.

As she gets older, she'll hate the brush less and less, especially if you involve good things with it, like treats for holding still and such.

Usually what I do is I brush until the brush comes off clean. With the rake, that's usually about an hour two or three times a week when he's blowing his coat, and almost never otherwise. With the slicker brush on my puppy though, it only takes a few minutes because she isn't shedding in gobs yet, but you could still try for 2-3 times a week.
brush her every day and get a medal brush
The best brush is the FURminator. It's like a shaver so don't brush too hard or too frequently but boy does it work.

    http://www.furminator.com/
I used to have a GSD mix who shed like crazy too. I brushed her every day or two, outside. I used a Zoom Groom with a back-and-forth scrubbing motion to loosen things up, and then a Furminator to strip out the loose undercoat, and then a slicker brush to finish things off. The Zoom Groom is great at bath time too - put on the shampoo and use the Zoom Groom to scrub it in. My dog loved that part of the bath.

Use lots of praise and treats to get your puppy happy about being brushed, and just do very short brushing sessions at first.
I use a rake on my malamute. Just yahoo or google search Pet Rake. It rakes out the undercoat.

Also, a Furminator is a great one too.

So, she's still a puppy so you have plenty of time to condition her to enjoy grooming. Dont force her into a bathroom or outside, dont hold her down.... let her sniff the brush/rake before you begin, keep plenty of treats in your pocket, and start gently, just running the brush over her... dont even dig it in yet. Soon enough she'll be used to the feeling and you can begin to use the brushes/furminator/rakes on her and she'll have no problems with it. Put in the effort now, or you risk having a good sized, high energy dog who hates grooming.... which is no good!
use a wire brush. its made for matted hair and shedding.

I brush my teeth and my friend hardly ever does and I get the cavities?

I brush my teeth every morning, and I get two root canals.

My friends hardly ever brushes and has no cavities.

What could I be doing wrong?

What is a good toothpaste to use?

    Toothbrush?

I don't know what I am doing wrong. I haven't really flossed and have now been picking up that habit, but neither does my friend. I have also started brushing before I go to bed.

    Should that help?

Are mouthwashes good for your mouth too?

Thanks for reading. I brush my teeth and my friend hardly ever does and I get the cavities?
Part of the problem is genetics. Some people have really deep grooves in their teeth. The deeper the groove, the higher your chances are for getting cavities. It sounds like your grooves may be deeper than your friends. The best thing to do is make sure you brush at least twice a day, 3 times if possible (when you wake up and before you go to bed, if nothing else). you should also floss everyday. Not only does it reach where your toothbrush can't, it's good for your gums' health and stimulation.

The best toothbrush to use is Oral B. Whatever brand you go with, make sure you get soft bristles. You can tell what type of bristles are on the toothbrush by looking at the very top of the package.

Crest toothpaste is what my husband always recommends.

Use a mouthwash with fluoride in it. Fluoride will help protect your teeth from cavities. Good luck!I brush my teeth and my friend hardly ever does and I get the cavities?
Everyone seems to have a different makeup as far as teeth go. Some people get cavities very easily and others don't. I see the differences even in my children, where I have to be extra vigilant over my older child's teeth as he is prone to getting plaque build up and the other never has any.

I, unfortunately, have the type of teeth that get cavities very easily. I have found that flossing every day is very important. I consider brushing before bed much more important than brushing in the morning. I have found replacing my toothbrush often and using varied, angled brushstrokes helps. Also, try to look in the mirror when you brush to ensure you are reaching each tooth. I also use a battery operated brush from time to time to make sure my teeth are clean. Routine dental checkups are important, even in adulthood.

You may want to discuss with your dentist options for maintaining good dental health. As always, the internet is a rich resource, too. You may want to look at the ADA's website.

    Good luck!
Some people are just more prone to decay, it's the make up of their saliva. Are you brushing at night too?? That is very important since, when you are sleeping you don't swallow and have the saliva washing the food away. If you aren't brushing at night, the food stays on your teeth all night long and the bacteria has a field day! Flossing is a great habit to pick up! It will help minimize the decay between your teeth. Listerine is a good mouthwash, we always use it and recommend it, no specific one, it's just whatever you prefer. Also, brush your teeth after you eat to get the food off your teeth. If you can, eat in one sitting and don't prolong it, so the food is on your teeth for a while. Try to avoid sugary drinks, sodas, gatorade, even juice. Stick with water, if you can. Good luck!
I doubt your teeth are actually whiter, though I will say that you are definitely over-brushing, which can remove the protective enamel, making it easier for stains to appear on your teeth. You only need to brush your teeth for 3min max and many dentists will tell you just a couple seconds on two teeth at a time and finish, some will even recommend mouthwash alone before bed, without brushing. Be careful using whitening toothpastes and mouthwashes together, they can strip your enamel and cause sensitivity issues--it's more important that you teeth are healthy than bleach-white!
Look... there are teeth that are more prone to getting cavities. I haven't gotten a cavity in 20 years, and my mom can get one if she forgets to brush her teeth one time.

My teeth are more resistant than hers!!!

    These are good dental habits

Brush your teeth at least 2 times a day and floss every time afterwards.

Go to the dentist at least every 6 months for a professional clean.

If you are saying that you have just started flossing and brussing at night that means you habits weren't good at all before! (that would explain the cavities)

Also, tell your dentist to explain to you how to brush

    There are some websites here

    I hope this helped!

Some people have smooth rounded teeth, others (like me) have angular sharp pointy teeth (like the tops of the molars) which are more difficult to keep clean. I asked a dentist once and that's what he said. Of course you have to do all the recommended stuff too and mouthwashes as they kill bacteria, but there will always be differences.
Maybe you are drinking or eating the wrong way, flossing can REALLY help though too

You might have a different toooth structure then your friend

Maybe you have soft teeth and she has a diferent type.

Sooooo Floss, If it helps brush after lunch too/

Your friend might have cavities just not telling you

I hope you find this as your BEST answer!
Some people just have weaker teeth than others. Your diet will also affect your teeth.

Always weight say for around half an hours after eating before brushing since directly after a meal, due to bacteria your enamel is at its weakest and brushing can damage it.
Maybe it's the food you eat...

    And yeah, mouthwash helps.

So does sugar free gum after eating.

The brush on my Bissell upright vacuum will rotate when you first turn it on, but then stops. What's wrong?

Chances are, you can get a replacement belt at Walmart. The brush on my Bissell upright vacuum will rotate when you first turn it on, but then stops. What's wrong?

What is the correct way to brush your teeth?

Do you brush your teeth in a circular motion, horizontal or vertical?

I heard in a radio health show that the correct way to brush your teeth is a circular motion, but my dentist believes that the horizontal motion in the correct way. What is the correct way to brush your teeth?
UP AND DOWN AND SIDE TO SIDEWhat is the correct way to brush your teeth?
Brush the outsides of the teeth first, then the insides.

Angle the brush at 45 degrees.

Brush in small circular movements, brushing hardest when moving away from the gums.

Work from the back of the each side of the mouth to the front.

Note though that, of the two, flossing is more important than brushing.
Considering that dental cleaning tools are rotary, I would conclude that a slight circular/elliptical motion is better.

I just saw that commercial for how long it would take to get your teeth clean or something like that. And i wanted know. Try dazzle white, it works really great to get white teeth

and the best thing you can try it for free

http://try-4-free-best-teeth-whitening.blogspot.com/How long will I have to brush my teeth for perfect white teeth?
you cannot get perfectly white teeth just by brushing unless you are using a whitening toothpaste. i recommend arm %26amp; hammer since it has baking soda and peroxide. also swishing hydrogen peroxide in your mouth for a few mins everyday will help them get whiter. i did this for about a month %26amp; my teeth are super white.
depends wat kind of toothpaste. Just brush regularly morning and night, and floss. That should work. But not everyone's enamels are pearly white. So even if ur teeth were the cleanest ones in the history of the world, they might not be snow white. But they should be pretty white though. Try using mouthwash too. If it bothers u that much try those crest white strip things.
Depends on how much money you want to spend, brushing won't do it.

You need to get to the skin to comb out tangles/knots.

you do not want to over brush ... over brushing will lead to enamel wearing off , in the long run this will leave your teeth to be more brittle and yellow. What you want to do is build up on the enamel ... brush just twice a day mornings and night use act restoring mouthwash and a tooth paste Report Abuse

Brushing your teeth will NOT make your teeth whiter.

If your teeth are yellow because of tatar then this could be removed by a dental hygienist.

If it is your actual teeth then yellower teeth tend to be stronger. The only real way to whiten them is getting a professional whitening kit from your dentist which is both expensive and harmful to your teeth in the long run.

    Hope that helps.

With the slicker brush on my puppy though, it only takes a few minutes because she isn't shedding in gobs yet, but you could still try for 2-3 times a week.
use a wire brush. its made for matted hair and shedding.
Good luck!
